Welcome to my blog, Mac’s Thoughts (at least, that’s the name until I come up with a better title). This blog mainly serves as my creative outlet; nothing more, nothing less.

Who are you?

My name is Mac Wentz. For those who don’t know, I’ve been a writer for my friends’ tech website YourTechExplained for the past 3 years or so. I always have fun with what I do as a game writer/reviewer, and I’m grateful for them bringing me onboard.

However, due to personal circumstances, I can’t put nearly as much time into game writing and reviews as I’d like to. It was something that was inevitably going to happen toward the end of 2017, but I didn’t expect my situation to escalate as quickly as it did. As such, I decided to put my work with them on hiatus for the foreseeable future. I’d love to come back on if my situation allows it, but that won’t be for quite a while.

If you don’t have time for them, then why are you writing here?

Well, there’s a few reasons for that;

I love writing! - This is still a great creative outlet for me. Even if I get a fraction of the people reading this as I did for any of my pieces in YourTechExplained, I still enjoy expressing myself through writing.

Creative freedom - I would never begrudge the guidelines of topics and content given to me by my friends at YourTechExplained, but at the same time there’s more stuff I’d like to write about that just wouldn’t work on a tech website.

No time constraints - I never felt pressure from my friends to put out content in a timely fashion. However, I did like to put those constraints on myself, especially for game reviews. Here, I can write about more of my interests with no time constraints. I can take my sweet time with talking about Persona 5 or my favorite shows of the Spring 2017 anime season. Even if I can’t, no biggie! At worst, I’d scrap it and move on to something else.

So what are you going to do now?

I’ve gotten started on a recap of my favorite anime from Spring 2017, so that may or may not come out in a timely fashion. As for future stuff, I’m still mulling over ideas, including some that never came to fruition at YourTechExplained that I’d like to give another swing.
